Before you start
- A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K / 4K Max, Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV smart TV.
- Your IPTV login details (from the welcome email after your free trial or purchase).
- About 10 minutes and your Fire TV remote.
Some newer Fire TV models run Amazon's Vega OS and do not allow apps from outside the Amazon Appstore. On those devices, use Option A (an Appstore player) and skip the Downloader steps.
Option A: Install an IPTV player from the Amazon Appstore
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Find (magnifying glass) and choose Search.
- Search for an IPTV player such as IPTV Smarters or another M3U/Xtream player available in your region.
- Select the app and choose Get or Download.
- Open the app and go to the login steps below.
The Appstore selection changes over time. If the player you want is not listed, use Option B on supported devices.
Option B: Install a player with the Downloader app
1. Install Downloader
Search the Appstore for Downloader (the orange icon by AFTVnews) and install it. It is a free, legitimate app for downloading files to Fire TV.
2. Turn on Developer Options
Go to Settings > My Fire TV. If you do not see Developer Options, open About, highlight your device name, and press the select button 7 times until a message says you are a developer.
3. Allow Downloader to install apps
Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install unknown apps, select Downloader, and switch it On. Leave every other app switched off.
4. Download your IPTV player
Open Downloader and enter the official download address published by the player's developer, or the code we send in your welcome email. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Delete the installer file to save space.
Only download players from the developer's official site or from us. Never install "modded" or "premium unlocked" versions; they are a common source of malware.
Log in to your IPTV account
Xtream Codes login (recommended)
- Open the player and choose Add user, Add playlist or Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any name, for example IPTVV USA.
- Enter the username, password and server URL exactly as shown in your email, including http:// and the port number.
- Select Add user or Next. The app loads live TV, movies, series and the guide.
M3U playlist login
If your player only accepts playlists, choose Load playlist from URL, paste the M3U link from your email, and add the EPG URL in the guide settings so program times appear.
Best Firestick settings for IPTV
- Use a wired connection if you can: an Ethernet adapter for Fire TV costs about $15 and removes most buffering.
- Use the HDMI extender that came in the box so the stick sits away from the back of the TV.
- Turn off data monitoring: Settings > Preferences > Data Monitoring > Off.
- Set the buffer in your IPTV player to Medium or Large.
- Keep 1 GB of storage free; uninstall apps you no longer use.
- Pin the player to your home screen: hold the Home button > Apps, highlight the player, press the Menu button and choose Move to front.
